8(a) Direct Award Process

As an NHO, Team MakaiDyne can receive set-aside sole source awards up to $100 million without additional justification and approval, using a simplified acquisition process:

  • Decision is reached by Contracting Officer (KO) to sole source to MakaiDyne
  • KO issues an Intent to Award letter with project description and sends to MakaiDyne SBA Representative
  • SBA reviews project, determines that MakaiDyne is capable of successfully performing the project
  • SBA issues letter of acceptance to the KO
  • KO informs MakaiDyne, we begin negotiations
  • Once mutually acceptable terms are negotiated the contract is awarded.
